My own take on the “Christmas story” leg-lamp: Earlier this year, I made this leg-lamp for my cousin, who had given me his cast from an injured ankle several years ago. Plastic model-kit foot bones and hardware store parts, fun project! 😊

Hi, thanks for highlighting Raptorex! However that is not my bust: I provided some guidance but my coworker Erin Fitzgerald sculpted that.

Love this "Christmas Story" ornament we saw ...but on closer look - is a fading photo of Darren McGavin as Ralphie's dad starting to look more like Leatherface?! Gives a whole new ghoulish interpretation to the leg-lamp! 🤪

I always get a little misty eyed when Jim Henson slips in and does the dishes at the end of A Muppet Family Christmas😔 We’ll also be thinking about the recent passing of Caroll Spinney; there’s a hilarious plot by Swedish Chef to cook Big Bird for dinner 😉🍗

An exciting chance to see this work in-person & learn a lot I didn't know about Audubon, this humble gallery didn't let down. One could spend a day just to see the historic & contemporary art dispersed throughout!

My parents have a Thanksgiving art contest each year for our family; here’s my entry from a few years ago- a turkey head nut-pick 😄 Epoxy putty, acrylic paint over metal pick

You’re so lucky to get an up-close view of that mural! 😉 I’ve only seen it in old books and posters; have yet to visit & admire in person... please post more pics if you have any! I read a great account of the daunting moment before first brushstroke was placed on blank wall!

This morning: hands on the wheel, eyes on the road- but I can’t help trying to catch a glimpse of Brachiosaurus when I’m on Lake Shore Drive... always reminds me of when Ken sees from a rolller coaster & nobody seems too excited! 😉

Haven’t painted awesome alligator sculpture yet, but placed in one of my cabinet of curiosities, next to a vintage postcard of a leucistic alligator, & all good for now 😉

So nice of you to post this- let me know if you’re ever in Chicago! That’s a life size model built atop fossil dome cast; it’s not @ my studio but in the molding & casting room - my day job lab. Filmmakers always stage the scene to look more interesting 😉

Also didn’t think I needed another book, but this new “making of” is fantastic- love the chronology, concept art, behind the scenes photos & stories: a must for fans of this classic. A Polish movie poster reminds me of an alt scary cover “Skeleton Keys” 😉

Big news! From 1933 Chicago World’s Fair. With “King Kong “ sweeping the nation at that time, the chance to see prehistoric creatures in person was surely appealing. Is “modern miss” here a nod to Fay Wray? Can you call this early infotainment ?

Can’t believe my 8 yr old son just sat thru a subtitled Vs Hedorah (The Smog Monster) with me! I was just younger than him when I saw this, my 1st + fav G-film. It’s my Endgame, no other Godzilla film is as near to my heart, so weird & fun & inventive😉
