I think I've known about this for 4 years and used it maybe once ever, most of the time when you want to change something on multiple lines it either isn't aligned or it isn't the same number. end up using ctrl+h or an excel formula almost always

this is why I always try to keep blocks of similar looking code aligned with spaces & stuff, I use this feature very often.

You can do some fancy stuff like here in VS Code (control shift P -> evaluate math expression)
