3/3 I thought he was consistently selfish and manipulative-- playing all kinds of weird mind games with a very intelligent, but still extremely vulnerable young person-- all the way to his final phone call about getting engaged. It really made me hate him from beginning to end.

2/3 But I could not stand Armie Hammer's character. First, I had a hard time buying him as a grad student. He's over 30 in real life and looks it. So for a guy his age to be hitting on a 17 year old kid made me super uncomfortable. And even worse, was the way he was doing it.

1/3 Let me first acknowledge the positives. I love love stories. I love intellectuals. And I love the Italian countryside. I also thought Timotheé was fantastic. And while I didn't at all buy the suggestion that Mom didn't know, I obviously loved the last scene btwn Dad and son.

To be an FBI agent every aspect of your life is INVESTIGATED. Family, friends, employers questioned, polygraphs. You need a 4 year degree, pass tough tests, be physically fit and commit to be a selfless public servant. The man bitching about the FBI couldn’t get Into the FBI.

Writing is rewriting. Writing IS rewriting. Writing is rewriting? Writing is re-writing. Writers rewrite. Rewriting is writing. The Art of Writing is in the Rewriting. True writing is rewriting. The only kind of writing is rewriting. Writing is rewriting.
