Thanks. I'm relatively new to the Trek Book Club, joining it ~6 months ago and enjoy participating in the club very much. I will be using the same framework that Rob uses for the Trek Book Club for the Destiny #2: Mere Mortals discussion so you'll get a chance to experience it.

Thanks, for the shout out - it's much appreciated. For anyone who is interested, here are the details of the discussion weekend for Destiny #2: Mere Mortals. Hope to see some of you there!

Also who also participates in Trek Book Club with us is running his own discussion for the 2nd book of the Star Trek Destiny crossover trilogy (also by Mack). I recommend that whole trilogy if you're looking for some serious escapism.

Never let me go to a 2nd hand book store. I always come out with a few Star Trek books and a few others as well.

I’ve been thinking about this. I don’t think Trip is or can be the conscience of Section 31. It’s more that he’s trying to not let the organization corrupt him fully. I don’t think any one person can change an entire organization like this one, where the org is about deceit

So far this one is the only one to really explore it in depth, but it does a really great job at that

Phlox is one of my favourite Trek Drs. I'd actually like a book that goes into more detail about how his culture works (I dont know if there is a book out there already?)

In general, I enjoyed this book, especially the Ware and Denobula story lines. I liked the previous book "Uncertain Logic" a tad more due to the Kir'shara story line. This one was also very good.
