Under this 1770 lamp a British crown once rested. On the night of July 9th 1776, the Declaration of Independence came to New York. All the crowns were sawn off that night. Customers are delighted to feel the actual saw marks!

This is the *first* national monument, the tombstone of General Richard Montgomery who died in in 1775 and is entombed under the altar of St. Paul's Chapel, itself 250 years old. Montgomery Alabama is named for him!
