Toucher and Rich
My sources inside the Patriots deny that Robert Kraft gave Bill Belichick an ultimatum to trade Jimmy Garoppolo, and there was no "half day meeting". I was told Belichick approached RKK with 49ers offer, RRK asked BB if he liked the deal, BB said yes, deal was done.

For all the idiots who don’t know their ass from their elbow, I’m gonna give it to u straight no chaser..Pats wanted to hold on to Jimmy G but finically it wouldn’t been able to work, Jimmy’s going get paid big money and their not gonna franchise a backup QB, it’s that simple.

Exactly. They offered him a 17-18M extension & he passed, you have to trade him at that point.

The article didn’t have merit since it didn’t refer to Mr Kraft as RKK

The Pats offered Jimmy G a fair contract and he rejected it. He left them no choice but to trade him. BTW Fred is taking way too much joy in this story. I want to punch him in the throat.

...millionaire egos have clashed. OK? Superstars have influenced player moves. And? Everybody doesn't go to hot yoga together. Shocker. This ESPN story is just hilarious.

I doubt that Kraft would meddle with Bill because of Brady and risk losing HC.Last year Browns were dangling more picks for Jimmy, but Bill didn't budge. So something had to change since then.

The Browns never offered more than a 2nd round pick and a later rounder. They didn't blow the Patriots away with a trade as you say.

Pats had no bargaining advantage. They were not going to start him, they were not going to franchise him and teams knew that. He was going to walk at the end of the season. How is that so hard to understand?
