THIS. This is why we need history education. History provides context. History provides perspective. History is constant. None of this is new.

The crowd chants “Send her back! Send her back!” after Trump goes after . At what point can we call this, without hesitation, the fascism that it is? At what point can we stop saying that racism isn’t a mobilizing factor for Trump supporters?

Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Do not become bitter or hostile. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. We will find a way to make a way out of no way.

For the record: 1. I am a Hawaiian scientist and there are more of us than you see/hear. We are not unicorns, we are human. 2. The conflict on Mauna Kea is NOT about Hawaiians vs. Science. 1/x

Confident in my ability to properly tennis, I take the court. I smile at my opponent. Serena does not return the gesture. She'd be prettier if she did, I think. She serves. The ball passes cleanly through my skull, killing me instantly

This isn't a new low, this is normal. WOC, including me, who stand their ground and speak their minds have always been considered problematic, uppity, dangerous, threatening. It's just become more visible to the rest of you all.

The fact that we have Congresswomen who represent the beautiful breadth of diversity in this country is a strength. To not realize and champion that fact is just sad.

Let’s be clear about what this vile comment is: A racist and xenophobic attack on Democratic congresswomen. This *is* their country, regardless of whether or not Trump realizes it. They should be treated with respect. As president, I’ll make sure of it.
