This is why incidents involving Asians never go viral. People think we’re so docile and timid, and that “nothing ever happens to us”. So if and when they do, they get swept under the rug. People are in so much denial that videos like this make them question authenticity.

My roommate is Chinese and she's feeling pretty nervous. I think wearing a mask is a bad idea because culturally we see it as a sign of illness not a sign of politeness. Her parents really want her to be wearing a mask but after this it's not happening.

As with medical professionals, preppers, ANYONE...wearing a surgical mask either prevents a person from infecting or being infected. So idk why wearing one can be seen as such a bad thing.
