Poland’s contribution to victory in Europe from the very start of the war right to the end deserves much more attention. After being divided by Stalin’s deal with Nazi Germany until eventual subjugation to Soviet tyranny, Poland was a victim but never stopped fighting.

Obviously lots more to be done, etc etc, but it is wild that the electricity grid has basically been transformed in less than a decade, largely by private companies given the right incentives by government policy

UK electricity generation, which I am kinda weirdly obsessed with, is 80% carbon neutral right now. 57% renewable; 23% nuclear. Only 15% natural gas.
