No matter how many show titles my dogs do or don't have, the thing that makes me proudest is when they do great therapy work.

So do you think there should be no black officers? And if not, why not? Don't you think they could do a better job from the "inside" healing the community relations? Personal question. Don't answer if you don't want to, of course. Have you always lived in a city/urban?

... effect change, on several "sides", are going to lose out. Either due to pushback or due to things happening too fast, before they've been thought through thoroughly.

... things forward. And then you have Seattle, where they're losing 100 officers, including their Black female chief, because of budget cuts and policy changes. I am afraid the criminals will/already are taking advantage of the unrest and the ones who truly want to ...

Just took the others off this convo. I appreciate your "talking" to me. Yes, I have heard that, but the defund the police movement is all over the place. And it can't happen overnight. And right now, with all the continuing protests, there's no time for discussion to move ...

... policy that needs to be changed. I'm not sure there are any instances where a child of that age should be handcuffed. I may be wrong about it being a policy issue, but I do remember some case where it was.

But not everyone lumps POC together. If I met you on the street, I'd treat you just as I do anyone. I know not everyone would, and I'm sorry for that. No need to feel sympathy for cops, but not all cops are Bs. I think I know the incident you're referring to, and that's a ...

Okay. So how does it get fixed? Do you think 100% of Black people look at all cops as horrible? Do you think 100% of all cops look at Black people as horrible? If not, what percentage would you say? And yeah, it's free-for-all in some of the cities for sure.

I think in a lot of cases the police do need protection. I wouldn't be out there with no protection with concrete and fireworks being aimed at me. The white people in MI, I think it was, were showing their ass and being ridiculous. Mr. Floyd's death made me angry & made me cry.

Unfortunately, with everyone being lumped in together, progress can't be made and the violence is causing the message, the very important message, to get lost. While there have been cops who have used way too much force lately, don't you think some civilians have, too?

I'd have your back! Not all officers are bad. I've attended a camp they put on for at-risk youth and been impressed at the conversations. I've seen how much the school resource officers care for the kids. I've seen a lot of good cops, and I agree the bad ones need to go.

fireworks. They should not have to just sit there and take it, should they? Should communities just sit there and take looting and destruction? I get mad at that, too. But I believe everyone is equal and if you were in front of me and an officer was treating you unfairly ...

Do you know how mad I was when Trump took his walk across the street in DC holding an upside down Bible? And then tried to say it was due to violence that the tear gas was used? I was spitting mad. But I also get mad when I see some throwing things at police, including ...

Of course I can understand you being angry even though I can't understand what it means to be you. And I, too, have cried tears over some of the cases. I have been angry over some of the cases. Do you really think I'm enjoying it? Why ironic?

In this case, the only video I need to see is the video showing the officer is trying to pull the dog off because that is the snippet that Alyssa posted. I responded to that snippet. I don't know the full story so can't say whether the dog was necessary or not.

... good does anyone any good. We are individuals, not labels. So yeah, sometimes I need to see the full video and sometimes I don't. Case-by-case basis. I don't judge labels. I look at situations.

Do you believe in accountability all around? I do. I don't care whether you're in uniform or whether you're not. I don't care what color you are or aren't. If you do wrong, you need to be held accountable. I also don't think labeling a particular "group" as all bad or all ...

... whether what the gentleman did warranted a dog being released, and maybe that was wrong. I don't know just from that video. I do know, however, that he was trying to get the dog off. That's all I was responding to. That's all I was commenting on.

Words matter, especially when you have the platform Alyssa does. People are already angry. Obviously you are extremely angry. When you say someone "won't" take a dog off when someone is obviously trying to get the dog off, that is wrong. There may be a reason to discuss ...

My name is obviously not Brenda. There are many deeper issues that need to be given a hard look. I don't deny that. You originally responded to me pointing out that the officer was actually trying to get the dog off. That is all. Have a nice day.
