Yesterday I saw a hobby and a swift over the garden. Extraordinary that they are now as rare as each other. 20 years ago I would see 1,000 swifts to one hobby.

No, not blight nor lack of nutrients in soil but lack of calcium uptake due to erratic watering. Water regularly and rest of fruits will be fine.
