I think that is backwards. It was originally 10k, but they upped it to 20k for the chain swap announcement.

Once the fork happens, the new wallet will run the masternodes, all you'll need to do is ensure you have enough THC to cover the collateral :)

Actually, it was initially 20k, down to 10k but then people we're scared that there would be too many MN so they brought it back up to 20k but also stated that it could be more...
