Gareth Southgate to watch Championship rather than Champions Lge this evening as he casts net wider. England manager will check on Mason Mount in Derby v Blackburn, with Steve Holland looking at Jack Grealish in Aston Villa v Rotherham. Sign of the times.

McGinn + Grealish + Kodjia + Abraham = A beautiful build up and lovely finish 😍 UTV

I can't find much written on it - certainly compared to Henry James' more famous works - but this is a nice short piece from 2012 about What Maisie Knew.

‘Housing First argues that the main thing a homeless person needs is a home. Give that... and the rest will slowly fall into place. And time after time it works. Yet... it’s the opposite of how homeless people are usually treated.’

I definitely didn't see that coming. From all the riders who did Le Tour, it was Steven Kruijswijk, the one who got the best result. Top 5 in both of them. And never afraid to attack. Insane season by him and LottoNL-Jumbo. 👏👏

The Chiefs have the best offense in the . Defence only needs to be average for them to succeed.

In other news, Mustafa Sayar won today the mountain top finish in Tour of Cappadocia. Tour of Turkey is less than a month away...

From the January 2017 window, when he actually brought his own permanent players in, out of Hourihane, Lansbury, Bjarnason, Bree, Hogan and Taylor. Only Taylor started today and none of them are currently considered his definite first team starters. He's never built a team...

Igor Anton retires after 14 pro seasons. 4 stage wins in Vuelta and 1 stage win in Giro. We'll never know what would have happened on Peña Cabarga climb and the rest of 2010 Vuelta. For me the most memorable moment is the Zoncolan stage win in 2011 Giro. (📷 Getty)

"I don't see a team, I don't see cohesion" - Rosenior saying what I've been saying about Villa pretty much every week. Zero progress, it's getting boring now.

"We want Bruce out" is audible from the away end. Not all 4,000. But a fair few.

Superb the 5000 Villans at Ewood 👏🏽 Hope nobody is under any illusion that point was progress. Sucking the life weekly from some players. A worrying lack of cohesion. There will still be a few saying "He's a promotion specialist", but the style and substance is pure garbage.

Once again, individual quality saves Bruce from an embarrassing loss, performance was still nowhere near good enough and honestly just papers over the cracks.

I don’t care that we’ve got a late equaliser, this simply isn’t good enough. Pretty much best squad in the league & we’re playing like a mid-ranking championship team. No plan, overly defensive, totally uninspiring. He’s had long enough.

The Hourihane free kick shouldn't change an awful lot. Villa are going nowhere under Bruce. A talented squad needs a better coach.
