Before having children I anticipated a few things. Sleepless nights, poopy nappies etc. What I did not anticipate was never having a bathrobe tie because it was forever being used as a pretend dog lead when my children pretended to be puppies...

My husband (not academic) and I are splitting childcare and work, but neither of us can work full time. It will certainly have an impact for both of us. I would be interested to see what the graph of just academics with young children looks like (independent of gender)
