In my mind Soto led in so many stats and was the ROY of I had a vote while Scherzer led in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts it was deGrom who controlled runs scoring. Maybe if Scherzer pitched less innings he wouldn't have given up so many runs in the later innings.

LH-RP Taylor Guilbeau is one of the risers from Fall League. Deceptive delivery, FB touches 96 (up +3-4 mph since regular season) with hard cut-like SL in the high-80s. Spotlight:

It's the earliest DC measurable snowfall since Veterans Day of 1987. Time is everything! Have a great honeymoon at the beach!

FIP is "fielding independent pitching" and is supposed to measure a pitcher’s ERA if the pitcher experienced league average results on balls in play but does it adjust for part effects and real fielding to defense?. My question is does it do it well and is it meaningful?

You have to start somewhere with stats. It's ironic because Juan Soto led in old-school and new-school stats and tied in fWAR at 3.7. He had the lead in RBI, K, BB, OBP, OPS then he also led in wRC+, WPA and BB/K.

There were decent cases for both pitchers. I weigh ERA as the most impactful stat. I think in today's game it's limiting runs + pitching to your defense & getting stingy when you have RISP. Strikeouts are a secondary stat. I use that reasoning for Soto and OPS why he is the ROY!

Good to hear Hal Steinbrenner say that. Just say no to Machado.

Every proposal I saw he was looking to share expenses but like most owners they don't want to own the stadium rather rent it. The last proposals to stay in PWC he was putting up most of the money for the stadium and PWC still wouldn't do it. So there you go. They tried to stay.

I'm sure lots of long time supporters of the PNats will be weighing traffic and timing in the amount of games they can attend. They had a loyal following and PWC will soon find out the economic impact of losing the team.

Part of it was recency bias due to that hot streak Acuña had late in the season but I expect the voters to be smart enough to look at the whole season and evaluate on that.

I'm still not over the Soto snub. Only two writers got it right. We have all of these old school and new school stats like OBP, OPS, RBI, BB, K, BB/K, WPA, wRC+, Park Effects, etc. and Soto led every one of them and tied for Fangraphs WAR. You go to the guy who was the teenager!
