It is absolutely jarring the extent to which VCs don't understand how founders think and to which VCs' overrate their own importance. The industry has erected systems that only serve to waste founder time in service of making investors feel "helpful"

It’s easy for VCs to underestimate how time consuming random coffee meetings with VCs are. That’s kind of their job, but it’s not my job, except at rare points where those intersect. I could literally meet with VCs all day every day, and would have nothing to show for it.

It’s highly counterproductive in my experience. None of the people I built relationships ever funded us. In fact, building a “relationship” was a counter indicator for whether they would invest.

such a funny (and true) comment because it's blunt but said in the most diplomatic and polite way 👏👏

China’s ability to fire the CEO of Cathay Pacific shows how irrelevant it is to ask who technically owns Huawei. What matters is whether the state has effective control, not legal control, and we know the answer to that for any company in or even near China.

not catchy, just one word that is easy to understand and accurate. e.g. am using "Access" right now meaning your access to a customer segment. But "Feedback Cycle" more accurately conveys the dimension that matters and reasoning
