It is heartbreaking to lose a hero like John Lewis. We must honor his legacy by expanding and protecting civil rights and voting rights. May he Rest In Peace.

It’s telling that said “[dismantle] the whole system of oppression” and you heard “dismantle America’s economy and political system” Y’all clearly agree that these institutions weren’t built to benefit all Americans. You just don’t agree that we should fix that.

I fought to end cash bail locally because it keeps poor people locked up who haven't even been convicted. Cash bail is unnecessary and disproportionately hurts people of color.

If the killer of Rayshard Brooks can walk free, why are 45% of Georgia’s prisoners, accused of nonviolent offenses, stuck in jail without trial? We should end cash bail for nonviolent offenders so that the right to Liberty is never contingent on wealth.

On this 4th of July, I’m reminded of the promise of America: that all men are created equal and endowed by God with the unalienable rights to life and liberty. I’m also reminded that these rights have been denied to too many Georgians like Eurie Martin and Ahmaud Albery.

We must end qualified immunity, the judicial doctrine that protects LEOs from civil liability for their actions. We must always ensure that the government is held accountable, especially for violence against its citizens.

Over the past month, the American people have made it clear that it is past time for reform to counteract systemic flaws in law enforcement that enable racist and unjust violence.

Absolutely! As a nurse, I know 1st-hand the horrors of our private insurance system- horrors which no other industrialized nation face. I’ve seen people in my community reduced to ruin by runaway healthcare costs. It nearly happened to my family. The Jayapal bill is long overdue.

If you, unlike Rep. Hice, see the difference between advancing actual foreign policy solutions and soliciting election interference from a foreign nation, please help me repeal and replace our ineffectual Congressman!

When I am elected to the House, I will work to repeal the AUMF and amend War Powers to return control of our armed forces to we, the People. Today, I ask you to call and email your representatives and demand deescalation for the safety of the people of America, Iraq, and Iran.

An impeached President has committed an act of war without authorization from Congress. No matter your politics, the American people MUST have complete control over war and peace. He went around us because the American people say NO to another endless war in the Middle East.

Who among us wants war? What is there to gain? Thousands of innocent lives could be lost forever because of President Trump’s decision to assassinate a foreign leader, all to bolster his approval rating and distract from his impeachment.

But when I look at the state of our world, mass incarceration of our youth, police violence, and intolerance of other cultures/races, I can not wait. I can not wait until another patient dies due to lack of access to healthcare. I will not wait!
