Lmao my top is a local friend. Level 2 but he doesnt play anymore either. I have zero allies too now. The achievement is basically impossible to majority audience. Id say make easier to earn, less reward or let us craft levelling up a friend? @OctusTC
It's something we've been hearing and we're talking to the team about the balance of Allies.
That's good to hear. I just did the math. Currently it's 26,125xp to go from 1-5 with an ally. Even doing the quickest method in co-op vs AI on dodgeball that averages out to 817 games at 32xp per game. I can't get one person to play that much with much less 4.
It's a tough one too. ToD system effects it badly too. Like I see a friend on, playing Horde or Escape and all of my daily challenges are MP based or vise versa. I get Creature/Scion/Complete Horde challenges, buddies all got Win VS match/Win on Icebound/X kills etc
I think i have 1400 horde waves with my friend and we are still lvl 3. 
Only play with 1 guy that much.
It would take 60 hours of boosting in Co-Op versus AI with 4 other folks. Each round averaging around 10-20 seconds. Let that sink in for a second in comparison to real gameplay times.
Getting to level 5 is only possible by playing in a clique exclusively due to the insane XP needed. 99% of people who are Level 5 atm, have grinded against bots with extra controllers/accounts. It taking people out of main gametype population. Needs looking at asap imho.
Pretty sure a lot of the core community have met some of their best friends through playing Gears, over the years. Now, that kind of community building is hindered by an ally system that forces you to play in a set group, for an unreasonable amount of time.
Just talking, not doing shit
This absolutely needs to be balanced. It’s a ridiculous requirement, and is negatively impacting the player base because everyone is playing vs AI. 60-80 hours of grinding with the same five people is dumb, regardless of how long the timeline is expected to be.
So is this change no longer happening? Haven’t seen anything on it since this.
