In a better world, the Adonis pita bakery on Eglington would be a more popular tourist attraction than the CN Tower

People who complain bread should be free make me C R A Z Y. We have a dedicated person making fresh bread/focaccia every single day! Places that give away free bread are giving away mass produced garbage. (Obvs there are exceptions ie: bread built into cost of a tasting menu)

Down to the Northtown condominium complex. So many great little shops here, Sang-Ji bao hit the spot. Three dishes on the menu. Fried XLB, silky Dan Dan noodles, and the wonton soup was also great.

Down the street on Yonge, for lunch. We have many Korean bbq places in the GTA, most are mediocre. I have always had good meals here are Daldongnae (the one closer to Cummer ave). Always great banchan spread. Good pork jowl. Also incredible Kimchi Jigae.

Also, the red bean fish pastry at Galleriq - Bungeoppang. You’ll wanna get this piping hot. So much better when they’re fresh off the grill.

Across the street, the OG Galleria. The first, proper (IMHO) Korean supermarket. Still so good for snacks while you shop. Tteokbokki with fish cakes. The food court has great Korean pancakes (far left stall).

Moved to the new-ish Shops on Yonge mall at Steeles. The makeup of stores seem to change here every few months. Right now it’s the only mall in th GTA where you’ll see a mix of Persian AND Korean in one court. Snacked on Korean twisted donuts; Kkwabaegi.

Took on a quick tour of North York — 7 spots on Yonge street North — Finch to Steeles. Here are some standouts from one of my favourite, quickly changing neighborhoods in Toronto.

I have fond memories of that place, my first okonomiyaki in the early 90s. Its an institution, also considering what has changed around it. But it has also slipped. I went back a few times earlier this fall, was disappointed.
