These programmes are set up by legislation. The whole logic of the transition period is that the UK applies substantive EU law for the rest of the budget cycle, ie it participates in EU funding programmes this year.

Sure, happy to weigh in. There is no sound basis for Alan Dershowitz to claim that abuse of power is not an impeachable offense. In addition to being at odds with common sense, this claim is contradicted by a clear and consistent body of historical evidence. /1

1/ UK is *currently* a Member State but will cease to be one so the return rule is unclear 2/ Assuming it *doesn't* apply re UK, then free movement law on family members only applies where free movement is exercised in another Member State, or on return to France after that

It is not a good look for a lawyer if he stumbles over his past statements. And it is not a good look if said lawyer apparently does not remember his past statements and now simply claims the opposite. (Also not a good look: that we all know how this ends and none of it matters)

A pack of young Brexiteers attacked Remain protester Steve Bray in London yesterday, damaging his equipment and leaving him with light injuries. The thugs were stupid enough to film their violence. Repugnant, and not a good herald of things to come.

EU free movement law applies when an EU citizen moves to *another* Member State, and also if they move back afterwards. The position of a non-EU family member of a French citizen in France is, however, otherwise covered by national immigration law.

On the first point, it's a choice of the legislature. On the second point, it's hard to know in advance what the issues could be.
