The idea that colleges are anti-American indoctrination camps is the same kind of shit that gets people killed elsewhere. For God's sake stop saying things like this. You know it's not true, and we live in a time where things like this motivate killings.

The BL also waives publication fees for academic journals. I just shot them an email about it & they were quick to formally grant permissions and note it would be free. (I needed the hi-res version so I had both queries & were brilliant for sorting it all!!)

That would be amazing to see!! I’d also LOVE to see how it would hold up in comparison to one that is painted per recipes.

Different colours/dyes but did some parchment at the end of a dyeing workshop on a whim + while it’s been mostly stored (& dried hard bc we had to stop pressing it) the colour hasn’t faded. There was some alum in bath so quite possible they did mordant somehow!

Hey , curious about the manuscripts I talked about? Wondering what sort of sources I used to bring everything together? I've put up a bibliography on the blog! Warning: there may be a wormhole of digitisation links...

Casually reading books at Matthew’s. They’re mostly art books so I’m a bit happy. And 100% forgot someone was taking photos of that moment because the Rosetti book is 😍😍😍.

Now You See It ... Now You DON'T! Magic "Flick" or "Blow" books were meant to look blank, until they weren't. The magician once performed this 18th c. one for us! (Case V 169 .544) (Sleight of hand modeling by )
