Quit trolling Tiffany. I'm sure her mates at ES have more insight than one of the world's largest companies.

Interesting... All those advantages can be said about about the lightning network. Only with lightning your car doesn't need to be doing pow lol.

Using massively over-hyped crypto technologies like and as marketing drivel is not proving anything. Show me when they've implemented the crapware into any product which they actually sell and it becomes part of their revenue. It's all BS hype.

What is the *profit motive*? What is the *value delivered*? Why do I care if my car is running on 12v or 24v or IOTA or Postgres or any other technology? What is the use case? What can they do with IOTA instead of with any other technology? What value does VW get from crypto?

So a huge amount of money is moving around for "investment in tech and vision", or more realistically are people being defrauded en masse? The crypto billionaires are unethical robber barons. Detritus of society. Caveat Emptor is not enough--regulation and auditing required!

that is horrific. worse than co2 slowly poisoning humanity, worse than mass extinction and ocean acidification. worse than global warming fueled food and migration crisises. crypto billionaires running the planet just kill me now

secure communication between whom? there are plenty of ways to communicate securely without involving crypto.

To be specific, I mean "without cryptocurrencies", though the original statement is still true

How do you propose doing it without Distributed Ledger Technology? I'm curious.

If you give me a better definition of 'it' I can give you a better answer, but until then: VW manufactures the cars, each one gets an x509 certificate, VW puts a sim card in each car, and runs a central broker the cars can use to authenticate each other and grab public keys.

What about cars not manufactured by VW? Or other sectors beyond Mobility? There must be a universal protocol that enables seamless interoperability between different systems. "Central brokers" are also single points of failure, easily vulnerable to different types of attacks.

I'm posting this via HTTPS to Twitter. You are finding it via DNS and the SSL chain of trust. Go ahead and easily take down any link in our communication chain. Just because you have a shiny hammer doesn't make everything a nail.

And you still haven't defined the problem you want to solve, or the use case you want to address. Yet you are convinced it can only be solved with a cryptographic distributed leger. 🤔
