Westminster Hall is astonishing: it was the largest hall in Europe when built in 1097 (1097!). Even in 2019 its scale makes you gasp. Here Charles I was tried & condemned to death. What a survival. Great to see its C14th hammerbeam roof being so expertly repaired.

Ah, lovely to see this! These are reputedly the only roof angels in the country older than ours, although ours are *probably* the oldest in an ecclesiastical building πŸ˜‡

Did a bit of googling, here's the Sunny β˜€οΈ Hunny info. Yes to more lively verges! πŸ™‚ There's a thing in these parts with daffs and tulips growing on verges because the bulbs fell off the wagons when they were being transported, A17 mostly 🌷
