Hate to say I told you so - yesterday I predicted the Putin puppet, Trump would be working on the release of Butina. Watch for something coming this week.

Putin’s KGB “sincerely“ helped create a police state with vast gulags in the name of a people’s revolution.

Important thread. Short was an implementer and defender of policies way ouside the norms. This appointment gives him legitimacy he does not deserve. No different than Kennedy School appointments of the likes of Sean Spicer.

How can , of all places, rationalize the appointment of Marc Short on the approaching anniversary of the massacre defended by his boss?

Beside those few issues, we should tell Putin, “come back to us when you’re out of Crimea and Ukraine, and have signed an agreement not to assassinate people”. Meanwhile, maintain sanctions and keep supporting Kiev. THAT Putin would understan.

What’s interesting to me is just how clearly both Chapman and Katasonova viewed their intelligence activities almost like a fun game. Chapman was on tape as saying “fuck yes!” when talking operational stuff with an undercover FBI agent, Katasonova’s “ready for orders!” line, etc.

Well, there’s time to be serious, and there is time to have fun. Same mentality as soldiers going into battle: we’re all going to die so we might as well have fun doing it.

Well, as a former case officer, I can say there *is* a certain fun & games aspect to the clandestine mentality—probably in all secret services. To quote the immortal Donald Segretti, it’s ‘rat-fucking.’

France has its own version of Maria Butina, a young Russian woman named Maria Katasonova, who happens to be an ardent supporter of Marine Le Pen.

Here is your raw, unvarnished look at the Kremlin’s view of law enforcement, unchanged since Soviet and even czarist times: White House should intervene with DoJ to get charges against Butina dropped.
