Now I can yeet this 45Drives custom pinned PSU since I made my own wiring harness for a Corsair AX1600i. Entire server rack operating at 39dBA. Finally, silent server life.

Weird. My multimeter reported 1/20th the correct voltage as I was using it. So 12v was reported as 0.6v, 5v was reported as 0.25v. Then it just stopped reporting voltages entirely. First time I've had a multimeter fail on me.

Those feels when you help a coworker out with a problem and you're so glad that you were there to help them through it. Nobody should need to handle problems alone, asking for help isn't a weakness.

Signals, signals, signals... oops, ran out of SIGSTKSZ

TIL that if you mix recursive signals along with an alternative signal stack; Linux will properly consume the alternative stack for storing each siginfo structure that the signals need. Need to be careful because the default alternative stack size is only 0x2000!

Woe and shame. Only getting ~2GB/s sequential reads, and ~1.4GB/s sequential writes across NFS for single client. Only multiclient can really saturate it. Shame, shame.

Took a bit of manual tinkering but this chassis is now a quiet beast for my use case.

It's a bit on the pricey side at $400 but if you really need DP 1.4 signal rather than DP 1.2 then it compares favourably to other options on the market.

Updated to show the new LSI cards, replaced the dual slot M.2 bifurcation card with a single slot bifurcation card. Chassis still needs to be swapped.

Oops, forgot to plug in my third monitor again. Sometimes AMD on Linux is still a mess.

Blah, turns out the PMC Sierra HBA I was using causes FreeNAS to hang. Need to switch over to an LSI HBA instead.

Not exactly a perfect case for cable management, but it is alright.
