If I know anything about XCOM, I know that 80% is actually 0%.

Unless it's the aliens. Then 1% = guaranteed critical.

Confession: I play X-com 2 with the timers modded out. I just can't handle that pressure, man.

I find timers in a turn based game also somewhat counterintuitive.

It takes a certain kind of masochist to play XCOM on the hardest difficulty. 👽

Maybe. I found for myself that having a challenge AND having to take meaningful decisions actually increased my enjoyment of the game.

Comparatively, XCOM Easy is Hard for most games. It's fantastic.

Difficulty isn't even a fun mechanic. Most games just increase the aim bot accuracy and reactions while upping dmg and lowering health. Maybe less starting resources. It's just choosing to self flagellate because reasons. Devs never handle difficulty correctly in games. (1)

sometimes that type of difficulty increase is what a player wants, but it depends on the type of game, a fair difficulty scale differs with an rpg than a puzzle game etc
