As explained in we've also started hardening our Python scripts in this update to protect them against finding unexpected versions of their dependencies that customers may have installed in site-packages.

Meanwhile Pete split up system/library into a set of smaller packages, so that updates to individual libraries in IDR's & SRU's can deal with a smaller and more targeted set of files, and refactored LDAP support out of the NIS package.

Thanks for sharing! Sun and now Oracle has always made #1 with & . Unfortunately the market preferred the cheapest platform possible. But as you’ve noticed, they’re now paying the consequences. The reason why SPARC/Solaris is making a comeback!

Well SPARC is actually doing quite well & there’s been an uptick due to all the security concerns out there. Did you see the DISA award contract for M8 systems for next 5 years? DISA is the The US Defense Information Systems Agency.

I noticed a bug in SymCrypt, the core library that handles all crypto on Windows. It's a DoS, but this means basically anything that does crypto in Windows can be deadlocked (s/mime, authenticode, ipsec, iis, everything). Microsoft committed to fixing it in 90 days, then didn't.

Yes about SRs on new issues, but the knowledge base is still awesome. Takes 2 minutes to find an answer on a known issue. Very different from open source where there are tons of git issues to browse but no clear summary.
