The unfortunate truth. In some ways they compete for attention.

That is great 👍 I’m also thinking, instead of monetary sites that advertise, social media can put occasional messages that have hotlines for suicide prevention.

Some of the ways in which social media use impacts mood may be indirect. For instance, one of the most common contributors to depression in teenagers is sleep deprivation, which can be caused, or exacerbated, by social media.

Agreed, but SM has a responsibility in balancing the idealistic with the realistic by fostering help lines in their platforms. Build people up with support than bringing them down with illusionary content.

They have started support, not LIVE helplines but they lead you to active resources

Instead of the disconnect-simply calling a hot line, which is good as well but SM would be additive.

I think being able to talk it out with friends and family is a good start. Cause they know you and what you are capable of and can give u the right help u need. Maybe your perception on something that is affecting you might be wrong

Very redeeming. Sometimes you feel better after sharing your issue with the right person.

Agree Pooja, How about go to sites that you can share in real time about how you are feeling and getting some psychological support? That would be redeeming SM behavior.

That's true. Be on SM for a purpose and not because you are idle. It will guide you in SM interactions, the kind of people to follow, etc.

A 6a Know that you are not alone, use SM to read stories of survival like that of and about their struggles with , and also others from your own communities and societies to find inspiration and hope.
