They are 100% lying or not doing due diligence in the slightest. Saw plenty not indexed today, and we had to manually resubmit.

We’ve still been hesitant to do so because of apparent experience others have had with trying to whitelist Google Image Search, but still having the same problem. A lot of that content looks old, though.

Just to be clear, you’re suggesting there’s no way to protect ourselves from hotlinkers without interfering with Google Image Search, which we have no problem with? It seems like there should be a more nuanced solution here.

, tagging y’all as other people who may have experience with this. What are best practices now? Google searches on the matter are unclear, wrong, ancient, and don’t speak to my experience.

For sure, but then Google reps shouldn’t jump into social media with their eyes rolled into the back of their heads exclaiming, “where do these wacky SEO guys get all of their CRAZY ideas anyway?”

It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not, it nonetheless further erodes Google’s credibility and snooty attitude about SEO.
