The M/V Guemes is back in service!

UPDATE: The M/V Guemes has passed its sea trials and US Coast Guard inspection, and is currently headed north from Seattle. We expect the ferry to be back in service Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: The Guemes is being towed to Foss Shipyards in Seattle. Repairs are estimated to take 2.5 days. We'll know more once Foss can get a better look at the outdrive.

Guemes ferry is OUT OF SERVICE until further notice. Passenger-only service is available. The vessel had an unexpected mechanical failure of the No. 2 outdrive late on Oct. 4. We need to get the vessel to a shipyard & get the outdrive out of the water for repair.
