Friday : We have a native plant nursery behind our building. We use the plants for restoration work or streamside plantings. Our amazing intern Charlette keeps these plants alive. Thanks, Charlette!

Yep. It's roadwork season again. You may have seen crews on the roads this week prepping for chip seal work. Chip seal work is expected to begin June 25 near Bow. Check out Chip Seal 101 if you're curious how the process works:

Goats. Curly fries. Chickens. Kettle corn. Did we mention the goats? Yeah, we're officially counting down to the start of the fair. Advance ticket sales start in ONE WEEK - on June 26. It's a great way to save some $$ for extra fair food. Learn more:

Miles and miles and miles of rebar. This is what's been happening for the past month on the project. Crews expect to pour concrete for the bridge deck in the next couple of weeks. As for the obvious question: It's scheduled to open to traffic in mid-September.

Kind of crazy, isn't it? Another fun fact we learned: Most bats can't take flight from the ground. They need to drop a couple feet before they can fly...so. There's that.
