In a restaurant, writing stories in my notebook during my meal. Ordered another coffee and a pint glass of water. Strange looks for a while. Eventually ask a nervous waitress what's wrong. "Are you writing a review on us?"

But seriously, if you were planning on writing two stories, pretend that the submission limit is still two, then take the story you're least confident with AND SUBMIT THAT, because people will love it, and then post the other one elsewhere! What's stopping you?

Bien Abend, one and all! The more astute readers of the rules will note that only ONE story is permitted in this contest. The flip side of that coin is that we've hit 25 competitors, and that is still plenty of reading material!

Nope, this time around we're keeping it lean and fit. One solid story in one month's time.

Seriously, though, please review the rules and let me know if you have any questions. But you have been added to the roster!

Size Riot is a quarterly writing contest where people sign up to compose flash fiction on an announced theme within one month. After that, more volunteers read and evaluate the stories in various categories. No prizes, just fun.

It's going to be a challenge for some, yes, but this is the fire in which heroes are forged.

Let me tell you, Cocktober started out strong and held the lead for a couple days, then fell back (I'm so sorry, ) as Why, Hello There, Halloween, and New World Order squabbled for second. Thank you to everyone who weighed in! This was a great list of ideas.

All right, that's it, we've received 100 votes on the contest topic. With 13 days left to sign up for the contest, the next topic is Big Couples: big folk play with a Normie, or Normies play with a Tiny!

It's up to 97 votes now. The first place topic has 25 votes, second place has 19, and two are tied for third place at 17 votes. It's very close now. Maybe we'll know by the end of the day.
