Liverpool have agreed terms to sign 18 year old Anderson Arroyo. The Colombia U20 international made his debut for Fortaleza at 15. He had trials with Liverpool in 2016 & Mallorca in 2017. The quick, left footed Arroyo is an attacking fullback who can also play on either wing.

His club side has played in the second division for the last year, so his week to week form has been off the radar One of the standout players for U20 national team and would have moved to a major top flight team in Colombia if there hadn’t been European interest over last year

Anderson Arroyo was on trial at Mallorca in December and the club are interested in retaining his services. Liverpool have reportedly purchased 100% of his playing rights and will look to loan him to Mallorca while he works towards UK work permit eligibility.

Do you have any info on when Liverpool purchased the rights to Arroyo? It seems to have been before December based on news clips in Spain.

This is the first transfer window since he turned 18, so there may have been an informal agreement before but it couldn’t be be made formal until now. Speaking to his agent and hoping to do an interview with he player next week.

Do you think LFC have him doing a trial in Spain because it will only take two years for citizenship? Allan🇧🇷 has taken that long already.

I think he is on trial in Spain to ensure they are taking on a player they actually want and see contributing in the first team. Sometimes clubs loan players they don’t know and they never get a chance or don’t suit the system, for example Marlos Moreno in Spain.

I hope there's a better plan to get him to England than there has been with Allan. Not many FB's in the way for the Selección if he performs

He was training with Mallorca in December, Mallorca like him and the plan is for him to stay there on loan until he is eligible for a UK work permit. I believe two years maximum for this, could be less if he plays well and qualifies on the exceptional talent exemption.
