In fact she worked from start to finish to envisage the plan and push it through. One of our most competent diplomats.

I will raise issues of concern to us as Pakistanis with foreign govts even as I listen to their issues relating to Pak. I have always said we have HR issues we need to resolve but those coming to discuss these shd also look to their own shortcomings on HR which r of concern to us

But yes I did take up issue of treatment of Muslims in UK and the very dangerous policy now being advocated by UK Home Secy of "nationality by descent" which has serious repercussions for Pak. Dialogue is always two-way but seems has an issue with that! Too bad.

3. Have requested Religious Affairs & InterFaith Min to work towards setting up a Nat Commission for Minorities with statutory Powers & this was also part of our recommendations given to IHC CJ in the case of the 2 Hindu girls.etc. Not every detail can or shd be put on Twitter!

(Sent Ed Min textbooks with hate & demeaning material highlighted); 2. Sent Ed Min suggestion that with curriculum review govt shd allow minority communites to study their religions instead of a badly constructed "Ethics" course for them, as Muslim students study Islamiat.

UK says it won't sign "any politically motivated" extradition treaty BUT Pak must make clear it will not take back any politically motivated detainees esp under the internationally-illegal UK Home Secy's policy of "nationality by descent". MOFA? I am sure FM stated this to Hunt

Love ur wonderful home & garden which today is a refuge of a time gone by - a gentler time when there was time for tea and conversation amid flowers and the changing seasonal hues of the garden.

Cabinet already approved - that is how we laid before NA & then sent to comm. Comm delayed & played politics till I moved motion under rules to withdraw from comm & be voted on directly by NA! Now comm will have to send to NA for passage & then will go to Senate. Sad PPP delayed

3/3 But what is shameful is the way developed rich states have closed their doors to refugees - or been selective in admitting refugees based on religion or skills or worse still paid money to Muslim states to host refugees on their behalf!

2/3 Pakistan has done all this despite not being a party to the 1951 Refugee Convention. In fact we shd sign the Convention as we have gone far beyond its requirements without gaining any of the benefits. And there is always more everyone can do better viz treatment of refugees.

World Refugee Day today - Pakistan's hosting of refugees in vast numbers has been exemplary & far beyond its resources. It continues to host Afghan refugees despite loss of interest by world community & PM IK has moved to improve facilities for them. 1/3

When they have nothing substantive (Speaker himself corrected him on KP Uni facts!) Then they have only this approach left!

: There must be a thorough independent inquiry into the circumstances of former President 's death, incl. conditions of detention. The State is responsible for ensuring he was treated humanely and that his right to life & health were respected:

There is no comparison - our mly stands behind our elected govt & US "support" is issue of debate. Generalisations are misleading when basic facts on the ground are different. Our democracy may not be flawless (few are) but 2 successive elected govt completed terms - so will we!
