Okay, folks, I'm going offline for the weekend. Try not to melt. See you on Monday.

It’s 2019 and a German politician is denouncing Nazi hate speech by the president of the United States. That’s a plot twist they probably didn’t see coming.

I haven't seen the trailer, but this on-set photo from the Cats film looks fantastic.

WilWil La Red Velvet Cake seems like a super-fun, but not very successful, supervillain.

It misses the point - that anyone can now use this medium to deliver info and potentially build audiences around niches, topics, formats, etc., that the gatekeepers would never think to explore.

Of course there are lots of crappy and short-lived podcasts - that's what happens when the tech is easy enough for the masses to do it. Fixating on "These ppl are amateurs" is typical gatekeeper mistake.

Gotta love the "Hey remember blogs? Ha ha" dismissal of podcasting in this piece. Why yes, I do remember blogs, and if I remember correctly, they shook up the entire media/info ecosystem and biz model. Yet here you are, making the same mistake again.

My daughter got bitten by a snake. Got antivenin. Cost the company $14 to make. Cost $13K-$14K. They charged us $50,656 -- just for the drug. And they're a "nonprofit." Our health system seems little different from organized crime, IMO. It's extortionate.

You know who this is going to screw over? U.S. farmers. The question is whether it will affect their vote.

And I don't see why it won't work for him again in 2020. I hope I'm wrong. But I hoped I was wrong in 2016, too. I suspect Trump will lose the popular vote by an even wider margin. But I suspect he'll still win in the electoral college. Which is terrifying.

And, since a lot of White folks don't want to think about why their lives don't look like Leave It To Beaver, they love it. Reality can't compare to Trump's fantasyland. It's a tent revival for racists.

In 2016, I thought Trump would win, because he told White people that whatever is wrong in their lives is not their fault. It's someone else's fault -- a brown person, or a gay person, or whatever. It doesn't matter that he makes no sense. He tells people what they want to hear.

"Are you sick of constant crying and bitching about identity and gender politics invading your favorite hobby?" I wrote about the worst job ad in games journalism.
