I've spent my career fighting for workers—whether you work for tips or a salary—without compromising on women's rights, LGBTQ rights, or civil rights. Because when you love your country, you fight for the people who make it work.

We’ve seen corporate profits go up and executive compensation explode. Workers in this country are as productive as ever, and yet since this administration took office, we’ve seen wages decline. Too many Americans aren't seeing their hard work pay off. That needs to change.

If you love your country, you fight for the people who make it work—whether they punch a clock or swipe a badge, whether they're caring for kids or an aging parent. That's who I fight for. That's whose side I'm on.

As the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us, all work has dignity and importance, no matter who does it. All workers should be treated with respect. And their hard work should pay off.

We're already seeing the effects of climate change—heat waves, more severe weather, more frequent natural disasters. The crisis is at our door and the choice is ours to make: Will we preserve our environment for future generations, or will we continue denying the problem?

As a nation, we have no greater moral obligation than to support the courageous military men and women who risk their lives to protect us, and the families who sacrifice right along with them. Today we honor all veterans and military families—.
