I am pleased to inform that FBR has completely changed the valuation system at Custom Stage (CGO 19 of 2019 has been issued). Now we are in line with international best practices for appraisement. A paradigm change and positive effect for industry and trade will arise.

Discussion between small traders and FBR are moving ahead. Pakistan is passing through a transition in taxation matters where simplicity and expansion of tax base is the objective. Everybody has to contribute the due share in taxes for prosperous Pakistan.

Deeply grieved to learn about the sad passing away of legendary leg spinner Abdul Qadir. He brought great passion to cricket and to virtually everything else he did in life. His match winning exploits for Pakistan brought great joy to all of us. He will be missed. RIP

I have actually asked the Pakistan Academy of letters to create a hall of fame where portraits of all our famous poets and writers can be prominently displayed.

This is completely untrue. The new Secretary asked to place the portraits from the stairs to a larger room but they have been brought back since. There is no question of removing portraits of any of our iconic poets and writers specially Faiz and Ghalib
