Did a little test of three browsers on iPhone. and . For each I configured the incognito or private browsing features. I used a separate IP and separate SIM from different cellular service providers. FB/Twitter etc. not installed. Here's search terms used.

These are all "personal information" pertaining to probate aspects of at risk individuals who could easily be manipulated.

I then installed a new Sim. Installed Twitter. Deleted all 3 browsers. Reset my advertiser ID on Apple. Then logged into Twitter with this account which has targeted ads disabled.

What happens next will be neither shocking nor unexpected for some. It should be disturbing for all.

Folks. If I can't hide. You can't either. Stop playing with silly toys. The only way we end this is through behavior change and DEMAND & Regulation. I hope you are listening. This "utopian ideal" will crumble and you'll have signed away everything you are for a free account.

Why is this relevant to my account? I do research on Asia and Human rights (hence Thailand). I searched Google for a controlled substance withdrawal symptoms (hence Rehab). I've repeatedly mentioned hurricanes recently (beachfront).

Consider this: 1. Neither myself nor anyone I know is currently suffering from or seeking treatment for Oxycodone withdrawal. 2. I have medical debt like most Americans. 3. I have close family members with aspbergers. 2 & 3 were "knowns". 1 was not anything searched before.

That means they promoted an ad based on not just what I searched but also what they knew was "new" and possibly would result in a conversion for me. Now addiction is in that profile and I can't even have it corrected.

I'm seeing a lot of folks referring to WebKit etc. Please read my posts carefully. These apps were completely removed from the device. The device is pristine when these tests were run at each indiv. test. THE ONLY UNIQUE ID IS THE DEVICE HERE.

I'm getting some "but did you do X" questions or inferences to my lack of avoidance of "Experimenter Bias". This was not a laboratory test and no user is going to do a qualified lab test. This is about the user experience and frankly it's exactly why I posted it here.
