For those interested in the extreme rightward drift in the GOP, this podcast is a must. It delves into the activities of WA-GOP state representative Matt Shea. If the party will tolerate this guy, it'll tolerate pretty much anything.
While we’re off, here’s a special look at season two of "Bundyville," a podcast that chronicles the rise of the so-called patriot movement and how extreme rhetoric is going mainstream.

It's violent extremists like these, nestled comfortably on the right edge of the GOP, that made the Oregon Senate standoff so terrifying. There are a significant number of conservatives in the Pacific Northwest who are prepping to engage in righteous, 2nd Amendment violence.

The longer leaders like Brian Boquist (Oregon GOP senator) and the US President continue to serve heapings of rhetorical red meat to such people, the more likely acts of right wing, domestic, political terrorism become.

This is the "Flight 93 election" mentality; the "we have no choice but to wage a culture war against the cosmopolitan, globalist elites who want to destroy us" mentality. Shea is a freak, yet what he says and believes can be heard on Fox News just about any night of the week.

As I developed further in this thread from March. I worry that in the future we will look back and realize we missed the biggest story of the late 2010s, which wasn't Trump, but the radicalism he emboldened and which took over the GOP.
