She was an impressive woman with true convictions. Her presidency of the AFL-CIO made everyone proud of the organized labor movement in Illinois. We will miss her, but we can be comforted by the fact that her legacy lives on.

With the passing of Margaret Blackshere, Illinois has lost a true champion of working people. I first met her when she was Secretary-Treasurer of the Illinois AFL-CIO, where she went on to become the first woman president in 2000.

Steve Sonnemaker was one of the kindest, most genuine people in the Peoria area. His work getting the war memorials built at the courthouse demonstrate what he knew to be important. Peoria County will truly miss this dedicated public servant.

Dear Congress. This says you're trying to "build momentum" to stop patients from getting giant "surprise medical bills", but there's no action yet. and I passed a fix in IL 9 years ago, by vote of 113-1. Public Act 96-1523. Check it out.
