🔵 Chris Hughton shows you how you can make it difficult for teams who play out from the back by forcing them to pass the ball into certain areas of the pitch.

Players are always more than decent at this level, but what makes them stand out is one or several outstanding abilities. He's got none

We lost to a crappy goal to a team that didn't go at us the whole game. Watch the video again. Basic principle is go forward when you've got space in front. The 6-0 last season was the worst. Most predictable spanking ever, should have led to Sarri's sacking

I'm always bemused as to why people hype him. Every football person will tell you he's an enigma, bang average player playing like he's peak Pirlo Some of the stuff he does is unbelievable and not for good

That's utter rubbish and you know it. Made 70 pts with no player he wabted Sarri 72 with 150 million transfers he specifically asked for Chelsea won vs Liverpool 1-0 2 games from the end. Not trying?

don't read the comments, he was very good technically tonight. But the midfield was inept, nobody to feed him properly. Was forced to drop deep and link up by himself

That was a 4231 no? Abraham almost wide left, Giroud upfront, Willian 10 Azpi as RWB is an abomination. Time to acknowledge sacking Conte was the stupidest decision the club made, second with Ancelotti's departure. He had everyone in his best position

He runs around a bit and can retain it. But yeah, should be nowhere near that. 3rd midfield If we had a competent manager last season, maybe we'd have broken the bank for Ndombélé

Jorginho constantly asks players to come closer because he can't play beyond a 10 yards radius. Whenever he feeds someone, he congests space by showing up 2 yards away from him and subsequently brings 3 defenders with him. Moves break down BECAUSE of Jorginho, not in spite.

Fair enough, but that's how Ballack, Ramires, Essien were taller, quicker, stronger than anyone they came across in midfield Kovacic is hard to dispossess. An otter could mark Jorginho out of a football game

Oh and on zonal marking on that set piece, I don't remember Mourinho doing it at Chelsea anytime he won 3 Premier League here So maybe a good time to 1. play competent players aerially (especially in midfield) 2. bin zonal defence on set pieces

Being a Champions League level forward isn't an easy task for all this. Abraham can be there but the path is difficult Few Chelsea strikers were up to it. Drogba of course, but also Torres, Shevchenko, Diego Costa, Anelka We're talking about the best we've had here

I fully believe in Abraham and he'll end up being a great player for this club But we're over reliant on him (where is Batshuayi, hasn't had a good season since when he was the only senior striker at OM) whilst he's not quite up for CL level. Extra patience needed. Or a top CF

If you expect Lampard to seriously say Barkley is not good enough publicly, you're fooling yourself. He's gonna use his full squad, considering he can't bring additions. Regardless if Barkley will make the cut. We all witness him delivering nothing for club / country.

Hard to get perspective on that Barkley pen One one hand, he becomes a relevant option in midfield because the club did nothing to veto Fàbregas leaving or wait for £35m Bakayoko to acclimate So it's hard to blame the management in trying to give him confidence with pen duty
