I, too, was involved in helping with this integration. Per MA law, we have to check PDMP prior to every opioid/benzo written, but this just streamlines it so providers don't have to go to the burdensome web portal every time. Info flows in 1 direction. Why is this bad?

1/ Did you know that the 30-day death rate for patient who has a nonfatal opioid overdose DISCHARGED from the ED is: > 4X higher than risk of MI or death in a patient with moderate risk chest pain (HEART score 4-6) 2X higher than patient with high risk chest pain (HEART >6)!
