Being a developer has always been tough. I saw this up close as an editor at Visual Basic Programmer’s Journal where Microsoft regularly squashed developers similarly. We called it dancing with the elephant. But Facebook seems worse.

Using the same Facebook account on two or more Oculus headsets simultaneously will NOT get your account “banned.” Having the same account registered to two or more headsets is not against the Facebook Terms of Service.

USA has a social credit system too. Google my name and you will find everything I have ever done. Now answer: can I get a job?

Yup. Except we are talking about a $300 headset not a $70,000 car. Speaking of which, wait until Tesla does its own headsets. My car knows me at a pretty deep level.

Facebook has always been about real names and strictness on accounts though. Not quite the same thing but I agree. It is a heavy cost for using Facebook (it kicked me off a decade ago for a day so I have always known the risks). My data is worth a lot more than $300.

What attracted me? That it has no cords. Still is what makes it better than my other headsets.

My soul has been well housed in Facebook’s data centers. :-) I get more back than I give so far.

I don’t know of a stand-alone that does as much as the $300 Oculus Quest 2. The other headsets are not even close.

Not to mention Apple has been clear that it is mostly focusing on AR not VR.
