A1b: I don't think it's a total lack of music in any of these areas... but a lack of awareness/familiarity. We all need to do better to promote and use music by PoC/women/others who aren't dead white guys

A1: it's less convenient to find and less well known... I can name five pieces by men to use as listening examples for dynamics but would need to research to find one by a woman

5 good things from today: 1. Pajama day 2. My Starbucks order was perfect 3. Smiling band kids 4. Fifth graders working well together 5. Kindergartners singing a song I taught them outside of music class

It's sickening. Kids have to practice how to escape/hide/fight an intruder before they learn to tie their shoes and that shouldn't be necessary

18 school shootings since Jan 1- that's only 35 days. Another massacre of innocent children today Unimaginable in any other country Tragically, and literally, only in America Our kids deserve so much more- we as adults continue to fail them.
