I worked in tape for half my 40 year career and never heard the term. However, when I encountered people from different coasts, different regions, etc, I sometimes encountered some different names for common everyday tools and processes.

That tweet sure sounded like a tease for an upcoming video. 🤔

I was an Econ major in college. The chair of the department was Karl Marx. Had at least two courses from him. Nice guy. Captain of the department bowling team.

I have been following Jocelyn Ramirez’s story since her first days at Smorgasburg LA. Congratulations to her for her continued success. Pre-order made for a Mexico delivery.

I remember reading—one of several authors though I can’t remember which one—that with the expanding universe the number of stars we can see is decreasing all the time and the day will come when all stars will be too far away for their light to reach us. Not tomorrow, obviously.

A nice profile of my young friend, Javier Cabral, , my spirit guide along with his wife Paola Briseño in my food & travel adventures. I’ve known them for maybe 8 years & the arc of their careers is going only one way & that direction is up.

I just spent 40 minutes searching for what light a 1930s manufacturer of microphones (some used by the military) would make. No luck.

It’s been maybe 50 years since I saw it, but John Ford’s last film Cheyenne Autumn (Oscar for cinematography) might be one for the list.

San Jose->SFO->flight was a commercial flight in 1981. On my my way to teach video editing at NIH. Equipment installation wasn’t complete so they sent me home. Rebooked class & flight. Flew out of SFO the second time. The San Jose->SFO leg had added maybe $200-&300 to the fare.

I was once booked on a business flight from San Jose, California to Dulles with one stop. Not till I was on the plane did I realize that the “one stop” was SFO. They barely had time to bring the wheels up before they put them down again.

I wouldn’t settle for anything less than SR tapes in a monitor stand myself.
