I agree, testing is better than speculating. Thinking from an european setting, Columbus OH is quite different than Paris, Madrid, Milan, in infrastructure, density, use... Have there not been any trials here?

I feel that this demands great precision in regulation,if not it will be like adding lanes to a highway hoping to reduce car density. Everyone who already owns a car will want to profit from non-mannered, increasing not the number of owners but simultaneous cars in streets

So, the legal regulations at a local level can certainly damage the application of this technology that the article is foreseeing, at least in great City centers. One does not simply let the car ride free.

It is impressive, but I can stop thinking how cities can survive this kind of demand, specially in Europe. If the investment is focuses on public transportation, the aim is to have less cars in the city, not to fill the it with cars used 24h manned or unmanned.
