There must be consequences for the Iranian regime's barbarity. World leaders have taken an important first step and canceled Zarif's visits. They should not be rescheduled until Iran releases Navid's brothers from prison and returns all wrongfully detained foreigners.

On Saturday, ’s government executed a young man - after brutally torturing him - to intimidate Iranian protesters. Navid Afkari’s execution was a despicable act. Democracies around the world have a moral obligation to stand firm and reject this regime’s brutality.

Before his execution Navid Afkari,27,was subjected to a shocking catalogue of human rights violations and crimes, including enforced disappearance;torture & other ill-treatment, leading to forced “confessions”;& denial of access to a lawyer & other fair trial guarantees

Before was executed, another voice recording from inside prison was released, in which he said: “If I am executed, I want you to know that an innocent person, even though he tried and fought with all his strength to be heard, was executed.”

Your EU statement on the execution of Navid Afkari is not strong, it’s weak. You didn’t say a word about the injustice of this case — the regime’s fake trial, torture, use of forced confession, gross violations of the defendant’s fundamental due process. EU appeasement must stop.

After Germany, where they cancelled the planned visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarid because of the execution of Navid Afkari, France, the United Kingdom & Spain are now also cancelling the planned visit of the Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Noticed that CNN accompanied article about execution of w. the flag of the regime. Will continue the work to convince fellow EU lawmakers to pressure the mullahs. So that one day, we will see freedom-loving Iranians able to fly another flag on the streets of Tehran.
