Fair point. It's difficult to see how the game is worth the candle if that is how much parties end up settling for. Would be interesting to know the total bill for legal costs.

Yes it would. Maybe there’s a cost schedule somewhere. I’m sure most of the documents are available on request from court. Incidentally these cases cost tend to cost tens of thousands at a time. Insurance lawyer are very skittish at this - so they often settle at 1st opportunity.

I certainly do not think people should be allowed to publish untrue and damaging material about anyone else - but I can't see that libel is the way to go, and also seems prohibitively expensive to even issue.

Luckily I don’t have an insurance lawyer and am happy to see it through to the end. May need a couple of crowd funders for hearings however. Luckily I qualify for help with fees. A lawyer would be handy from time to time though. Offers welcome from the feminist lobbies.
