Never make deaths from opioids a partisan issue. We’re experiencing a public health crisis & supervised consumption sites save lives. If there’s a better idea, let’s hear it. If crime is an issue, help by restoring the police budget. Help by funding prevention. Fight poverty.

Here are some actual numbers about the huge increase in treatment spots under the NDP. This is what a full spectrum of care actually looks like, and what it achieves. The UCP never had any intention of looking at the data.

Maria hit the nail right on the head with this Letter to the Editor in "The City should not be forced to hire someone else to lobby on our behalf (paid for through our municipal taxes); that is your job, MLA Neudorf — do your job!"

Our UCP government doesn’t do facts, but here are some.

Alberta has a Premier who is now openly advocating separation. He is undermining our country. He is not loyal to Canada. This is a dangerous distraction.

Every time this pops back up I get angrier. “NDP drug sites” might be the most callous, lying piece of dishonest linguistic BS I’ve ever heard in Canadian politics. Reaches far below partisanship into pure cruelty. If only Jason Kenney had the capacity for shame

Went out canvassing tonight! It’s like I never stopped. Had a great time, loved it. Best part of the job, no question about it. I’m stoked the weather turned around and I can do more tomorrow and on the weekend.

I am not saying we don’t have significant issues with respect to drug trafficking, addictions, homelessness and need for more housing and health care resources. needs all of it, and we’ve gotten nothing from this govt.

The divisive, corrosive language used by to describe people living with addictions disgusts me. I did not think my esteem for him could go any lower. But the man who separated dying spouses from one another & smugly grinned about it has proven there is no floor.

Finally, the SCS is *supported* by UCP MLA Nathan Neudorf. is not listening to the City of Lethbridge, health providers, downtown business - heck, even our Chamber of Commerce has weighed in - or his own MLA.

Check the record. They began working on this in 2014-15. The approval came from Health Canada. But knows this, he just lies to antagonize and play cynical politics with life and death issues.

Hi, . We have SCS in Lethbridge because the city, police service, EMS, health providers & agencies and the downtown business association got together and *asked* for one. There’s nothing “NDP” about it. Are you picking yet *another* fight with our city & police?

It’s ridiculous our Lethbridge city council had to use our property tax dollars to hire a lobbyist to be heard by this Premier. Now we can see why. He is blinded by ideology and is fundamentally uninterested in helping solve complex issues in our city.

Our govt announced a package of these initiatives for and many of them are stalled. On behalf of my neighbourhood and my friends who are trying to run businesses in the downtown, I implore Mr. Kenney to set his emotions aside and help our city. That means keeping SCS.

I want to see this govt work productively on reducing harm and saving lives, while investing in intox, detox, mental health, addictions treatment, affordable and supportive housing, and primary care. That’s what will help on this issue. I don’t care about feelings. I want action.

My constituency’s downtown business owners have legit concerns re: addiction, drug trafficking, homelessness and crime. I live there and I do, too. These are no easy answers because the problems are complex to begin with. That’s why being guided by emotive outbursts isn’t ok.

It’s interesting to me that Jason Kenney is being so emotional about this file. These are issues that require calm, rational, evidence-based leadership, not feelings. But the Premier is clearly indulging his irrationality.

I live in downtown Lethbridge, and while I don’t walk by the SCS super-often, I’m certainly in the neighborhood. There’s no question Lethbridge has social problems related to homelessness and addiction. But we had these before the SCS.
