Grace Church in SLO utilizes nutritious resources from us to support one of the 5 largest distributions in the county. This is a longstanding mutual and cherished relationship which they recognized yesterday with a $1,000 donation for Hunger Awareness Day 2018.

Paso Robles is where it all started for the Food Bank! And the city council rolled out all the stops with a proclamation making June 1 Hunger Awareness Day in the city. Board members Dr. Richard Benitez and Dr. Doug Major joined Mayor Steve Martin in accepting this recognition.

The thoughtful and hospitable mayor and city council members of Morro Bay took it upon themselves to issue a proclamation recognizing the Food Bank's Hunger Awareness Day happening June 1. Morro Bay is a welcoming community always with an eye toward helping a neighbor in need.

Milo, Locke, Logan and Orion were so inspired after hearing a Food Bank presentation and a television program regarding poverty among America's youth, that they held a yard sale and raised $225.50 for the Food Bank.

We received a $100,000 grant from as part of its ongoing efforts to combat greenhouse gas emissions. This grant will allow us to purchase an additional refrigerated box truck that will be used to increase the volume of rescues we collect from local grocery stores.

We have received $3,000 from Central Coast Funds for Children, a small and local organization, to support our Children's Farmers Markets in 2018 - a program which ensures that children and families in low income neighborhoods have access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
