When it comes to jobs race matters. Overall unemployment is 3.7%. White unemployment is 3.3%. Black unemployment is roughly double that - as it almost always has been for over 50 years - at 6.2%. Latino unemployment sits at 4.4%.

We secured $500K for adult basic literacy programs in the Labor Committee. This was one of my highest priorities in this budget, and I am grateful to for working with me to get this done. Still need to get this passed by the full Council.

. When it comes to jobs, education matters. The overall unemployment rate is 3.9%. For those w/a BA or more, the rate is 2.1%. For those w/less than a HS diploma, the rate is 5.9%. HS grads - 4.3%. AA or some college - 3.5%
